I traveled to Laos and Thailand in March, April 2026. Here is my tourism details and hope it is helpful for some tourists who want to visit Laos and Thailand.

I plan to visit Laos first, then my wife and my son will visit following me later.
First I applied e-visa on Laos official website https://laoevisa.gov.la/index, which required photo of passport, your digital portrait and you need to pay in the end. My e-visa was approved in the third day.
Second, I booked my train ticket from Yuxi China to Luang Prabang Laos. By the way, there is a high-speed train directly from Kunming China to Vientiane, which is the capital of Laos.
Then I started my travel as below:
D1: I took high-speed train from Yuxi Yunnan China (中国云南玉溪) to Luang Prabang Laos. The train started at 8:45am and arrived at destination at 14:45pm, which was quite fast. Upon arrival, I took shared van to the night market, which was the city center and costed 50,000 kip. Then I lived in Y-Not Lao Hostel, which was 120,000 per night. By the way, 1 CNY equals 3,000kip and 1 USD equals 7 CNY.
D2-D4: I just relaxed and applied e-visa for my wife and my son. Meanwhile, I shot some pics.

D5: I met my wife and my son, and we lived in Sa Sa Lao Guesthouse, 18USD per night for private room, which was nice.
D6: Sa Sa Sunset Cruise. Actually when you check in, the receptionist will give you a ticket for Sa Sa Sunset Cruise, which is really an unexpected joy. By the way, you can take the free shuttle boat from Sa Sa Lao Hostel to city center.

D7: To visit Kung Si Waterfall, which I booked in advance in a local travel agency and the shared van fare was 120,000kip, the ticket of waterfall was 60,000kip. Pleasantly, a lot of bikini beauties from around the world like Europe and USA were swimming in the waterfall pool to enjoy the cool clean water.

D8: At 16:30 we took the train K11 from Luang Prabang to Vientiane, and the train ticket was about 300,000kip per passenger.
D9: When the train arrived at Vientiane, we took bus to the city center and lived in Venn Hostel with very comfortable beds equipped in the dorm. 93 CNY for 2 adults including breakfast.
D10: We took bus No. 14 to the Laos-Thailand Friendship Bridge to exit Laos and enter Thailand. I exchanged some Thai Baht, then we filled in the entry card information on the computer online, got through the customs, then took local taxi to Mut Mee Guesthouse which cost us 100 baht. The fee was 440 baht per night. I bought local Thai phone SIM car in 7-11 shop near the guest house, meanwhile, I exchanged more Baht in the local bank. By the way, I enjoyed the local Thai food.
