Module 15 Source and Classification of Etiology
If we are clear about the source of the disease cause, we can easily avoid it and gain health. So where are various disease causes originated from?
In fact, most diseases are caused by injury factors in the external environment that disrupt the stability of the internal environment.
People are in two environments, namely the internal environment and the external environment. As shown in the following figure:
The internal and external environment of the human body
The term ‘internal environment’ is somewhat specialized, as it refers to the environment in which our body’s cells are located.
You may not have seen cells, but this does not hinder understanding the internal environment. You must have seen bricks, but in fact, cells are just like bricks, with various shapes and even square blocks.
When I studied clinical medicine, I studied anatomy for a whole year. Actually, it’s not that difficult. People look like buildings. You see, when the bricks are arranged in a certain way, a room appears. And when cells are arranged in a certain way, they form organs, such as the liver, which is formed by the arrangement of liver cells in a certain way. When it comes to organs, we are quite clear that the liver, kidneys, heart, stomach, and so on are all organs. The house is arranged in a certain way to form a floor, while the organs are arranged in a certain way to form a system.
For example, the digestive system is composed of organs arranged in a certain way, with the mouth above and the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus below. Isn’t this arranged in a certain way? Floor upon floor, a building is formed. And when the ten major systems are combined, they form the human body. As shown in the following figures:
Comparison of human body and building structure
It’s also very similar inside. The building has water pipes, heating pipes, and we have blood vessels. The building has a sewer, and we have kidneys and bladder. The building has electrical wires, we have nerves. The building has no legs, we have legs, so the building cannot move. We can move, so we are like ‘a movable building’.
