xiǎo hái xiǎo hái nǐ bié chán
小孩小孩你别馋，
Don’t be greedy, children.

guò le là bā jiù shì nián
过了腊八就是年；
After Laba Day, it’s Chinese New Year;

là bā zhōu, hē jǐ tiān
腊八粥，喝几天，
Laba porridge, drink for a few days,

lī lī lā lā èr shí sān
哩哩啦啦二十三；
and it will be 23th quickly;

èr shí sān, táng guā nián
二十三，糖瓜粘；
23rd, sugar melon is sticky;

èr shí sì, sǎo fáng zi
二十四，扫房子；
24th, sweep the house

èr shí wǔ, mò dòu fǔ
二十五，磨豆腐；
25th, grind tofu

èr shí liù, qù mǎi ròu
二十六，去买肉；
26th, go to buy meat

èr shí qī, zǎi zhǐ jī
二十七，宰只鸡；
27th, kill a chicken

èr shí bā, bǎ miàn fā
二十八，把面发；
28th, ferment the dough

èr shí jiǔ, zhēng mán tou
二十九，蒸馒头；
29th, make steamed buns

sān shí wǎn shàng āo yī xiǔ
三十晚上熬一宿（守岁）；
30th, stay overnight which is called shǒu suì

chū yī, chū èr mǎn jiē zǒu
初一、初二满街走。
1st and 2nd day of lunar calendar, pay New Year’s visit.
