rì 日 = hào 号, so you can also say:

The question to ask date:

Jīntiān shì jǐ yuè jǐ hào?
Q: 今天是几月几号？
What date is today? (Today is which month which day?)

Jīntiān shì èr líng èrwǔ nián sān yuè shíjiǔ hào.

Today is March 19th, 2025.
